14 June - 19 June ; Bangkok
Before I start , I just want to say that :
Yes , this is another Bangkok post.
In 2014 , when I flew to Bangkok for a short holiday , I went to the 4 face Buddha to pray for good N'Level Results. I prayed that if I got the results I wanted, I would fly back again in 2015 to thank them. Which I did !
This year ( 2015 ) , when I went to thank them , I also prayed to get good O'Level results and something else :x
Anyways for this blog post , I will not be talking about what I did there because its obvious what I always do in Bangkok :
When we were there , the cafe had a on-going promotion where you can get 1 rainbow-ish cheesecake with a huge Hello Kitty cup(?) filled with some kind of sweet pinkish drink for 390 baht which is currently equal to SGD15 and if you spend like 400 baht ( SGD16 ) you will get a free mini Hello Kitty notebook as part of their Back To School promotion C:

- Shopping
- Eating
- Praying
- More Shopping
- More Eating
I don't think most people would go to Bangkok to visit tourist places like the Sleeping Buddha Temple (?) or like the Floating Market ?
For my first Bangkok trip when I was like 9/10 years old ? That's when I first took the plane ... ( now its like every 6-9 months take plane to somewhere ) I stayed at Baiyoke Sky Hotel which is known as the tallest one in the whole of Bangkok. Visited temples , watch elephants perform , took photos with tigers etc. But now is just a whole load of shopping and eating >_<
As mentioned above , for this Bangkok blog post it will be different because I will not be talking about what I did there. Instead I would be reviewing / rating :
- the airline I took
- the hotel I stayed in ,
- one really cute cafe :3
Curious ? Read on to find out more !
- Airline I took : Thai Airways
This is my 2nd time taking Thai Airways. The service overall is good but the food is just :x For my first time flying with Thai Air , since it was in the morning , they were serving breakfast. One of the breakfast dish is "Sausage and Scrambled Eggs" I thought it would be like those red/pink sausages with nicely cooked scrambled eggs but I was so wrong ;-; ( you can just refer to my Bangkok blog post in November to see how it looks like ) So for this time round , instead of the "Sausage and Scrambled Eggs" they also served "Carrot Cake"
I thought it would be the same as the one my grandfather's / uncle's one.
Yes my dad's side of the family owns 2 or 3 carrot cake shop but my dad isn't working there. Its just my grandfather and 2 uncles in 2 or 3 different locations. You all should go visit them if you are in Singapore :3 Below are the locations of their shop :
- Old Airport Road
- Bedok
- Somewhere in Singapore /opening soon i think/
I shall get the exact locations when I visit the shops soon and update yall.
/is craving for carrot cake/ T_T
BACK TO TOPIC
I think I'm really scared of taking the plane rn after so many incidents that happened recently.
When the plane took off on sunday morning , it was shaking and flying up and down. istg I thought it would crash plus I wasn't seated next to the window so I couldn't see what was happening ;-;
But we landed safely :>
For the return trip , I was so lucky because the seat beside me was empty :o and I had the window seat !!! My dad told me that the seat I had was better than first class because first class got only 1 seat but I had 2 all to myself XD
The food they served on the return flight was "Steamed fish with Fried Rice" & "Curry Chicken with Rice" I decided to go with the fish one because I'm a fish person orz But I have to say , the smell of the curry chicken filled the plane up.
The flight attendant was very polite and friendly. On the return flight , this flight attendant asked me what I wanted to have "Chicken" or "Fish" in a very friendly way c: And then when she asked what I wanted to drink , I asked if they had Coke and she gave me the whole can OTL Super Friendly indeed unlike the one on my flight to bangkok =_= they're probably not in a good mood since its like 7am in the morning.
As for the in-flight entertainment , for my flight to Bangkok , I would say that there were a huge variety of movies , TV program and songs to listen and watch. However , on my flight back , some idiot decided to use the parental lock on the TV at the seat I was on =_= I ended up with a limited amount of movies and TV program I could watch...

AT THE VERY LEAST, RESET THE PARENTAL LOCK ?????
Looks quite appetizing yes ?
Overall I would rate Thai Airways :
- Food : 4.8/10
- Service : 9.9/10
- Entertainment : 8/10
That's all I have for the airline section.
- Hotel I stayed in : GLOW Pratunam
From what I read online ( not sure if it is reliable or not ) Glow Pratunam is supposed to be a 4 star rating hotel but I felt that it was more like a 2 star / 3 star rating hotel mainly because:
- Most staff weren't friendly
- Breakfast served was nearly the same everyday
- The whole hotel doesn't look 4 star at all ????????
The hotel's lobby wasn't really well air conditioned ;-; it is already very hot outside and most of us would be thinking that the hotel lobby must be cooler than outside right ? but no ! its almost the same as the temperature outside ...
Furthermore , the staff behind the counters didn't seem too happy to receive guests like us ... their faces didn't look happy at all. Most of them had the annoyed or fed up face ... like hello ? if you can't look happy serving guests , I suggest you just go sell clothes outside at the shopping malls or on the streets.
The hotel's location isn't really good ( to me ) tbh. Since I stayed in Armari for my past few Bangkok trips , I'm not used to walking so far just to get to the nearest supermarket : Big C. Plus its not really near Platinum shopping mall which is directly opposite Armari hotel.
As for the swimming pool , Yes. Glow does have a swimming pool and a gym but the swimming pool area and swimming pool is small. I haven't been to Armari's swimming pool yet so I have no idea how big or small it is but I heard from my friends that the swimming pool there is quite big plus there's hardly any sun so you don't have to be scared of getting sun burnt. For the gym , because I'm not a gym person / a person who likes exercising , so I have no idea how the gym smells or looks like orz.

If anyone doesn't know ( which I don't think anyone does lmao ) I hate going swimming because I feel that the water is dirty af ;-; like kids (( even adults )) will pee in the swimming pool and then you have some who accidentally 'drink' the water so they spit it out with the saliva into the water ...
Now lets talk about the breakfast they serve shall we ?
First of all , I am very sure of what I ate for breakfast everyday because its almost the same !!! Everyday its just eggs, rice/porridge, bread, cereal and then a cup of orange juice. I think the staff making the eggs can't understand english well because when I asked for scrambled eggs , the person cooked up a vegetable omelette for me :c
The hotel serves nearly the same breakfast dishes everyday ... and the variety of dishes served is really little ? Like less than 20 dishes including drinks. They only have plain water , orange juice , pineapple juice , coffee, tea and milo for drinks.
There was this incident which made me laugh at how ridiculous the hotel staff was .
It happened on our 3rd breakfast in the hotel. For the past 2 days of breakfast , the hotel didn't charge us a single cent for my small cousin's breakfast. He's like 6 years old and doesn't eat much . On our 3rd breakfast , when the male staff told us that we had to pay for my little cousin's breakfast and my mum went "uhh ? its our 3rd time having breakfast here and you're only telling me now?" she scoffed and then looked at my dad. The male staff only looked at his colleague who has been allowing us access to the breakfast area. She was like "yeah ? whats wrong ? just let them in. " with that 'what's the fuck is wrong' face at the male staff. The male staff then let us in.
After we got our food and sat down , I told my mum that if they decide to get money from us the same thing again tomorrow , we should just go to mac and have breakfast =_= at least they serve a variety of food stuffs there PLUS it is cheaper :>
Another incident was when my mum made payment for the hotel room on our 4th day there. She requested for a official receipt from the staff behind the counter ( in case they accuse us of not paying ) but the system was down at that time so the staff told my mum that they would send the receipt up to our room. At that time it was around 11 am Bangkok time. When we came back at around 2/3 pm , the receipt hasn't been sent up yet so we kinda just shrugged it off thinking that the system is still down so we decided to just leave it till after we finished swimming. But even until 8 pm , nothing has been sent up to our room yet so my mum decided to just go to the lobby counter to ask for it. When she asked for the receipt , the female staff looked annoyed and just 'shoved' the receipt to my mum.
Having said all those bad stuffs about the hotel staff and food, the female staff who is working as a room cleaner(?) on the floor I stayed on was rather nice and polite! I only had 1 or 2 encounters with her but I can tell that she is really caring towards the guest unlike the ones in the lobby =_=
Every 2 or 3 days ( we stayed there for 6 days , 5 nights btw ) , whenever we saw her doing her rounds , we would approach her and request for water from her. And she would just hand us 8 to 10 bottles of mineral water at one go , not because she didn't want us to request water from her the next day instead , she told us 'Bangkok weather is very hot , need to drink a lot of water'
Another incident was when she knocked on our room's door to asked if we needed any room cleaning service. I was the one who opened the door and told her that we didn't need any room cleaning service but we needed more water XD Because she was handing me a lot of bottles at one go ,plus I didn't push the room door all the way so it would "stick" to the wall , she saw that I needed help and helped me to push the door all the way back before continuing to hand me more bottles of plain water.

She requested for a official receipt from the staff behind the counter ( in case they accuse us of not paying ) but the system was down at that time so the staff told my mum that they would send the receipt up to our room. HELLO ? MY MUM ONLY ASKED FOR THE RECEIPT TWICE WITHIN 9 HRS

SEE HOW NICE SHE IS ?
Overall I would rate Glow Pratunam :
- Food : 3/10
- Service : 2/10
- Room Service ( cleaning the room etc ) : 10/10
- Entertainment : 9.9/10
Last but not least ,
SANRIO HELLO KITTY HOUSE BANGKOK
Having gone to Bangkok for so many times , I never knew that there was a Hello Kitty cafe in Bangkok T_T ( yes , I'm damn slow. I know ) The Sanrio Hello Kitty House in Bangkok is located at :
SQ1 Building Siam Square Soi 6
Pathumwan , Rama 1 Rd
Bangkok
I swear its definitely one of the cutest cafe I have ever been to in both Singapore and Bangkok ;-; The interior is mostly pink in colour with the Hello Kitty characters decorated all around the cafe. The basement is called "Hello Kitty Spa".
Hello Kitty Shop/Spa :
This is the place where visitors can take pictures while seated in half a hello kitty car... I didn't managed to snap a picture of the car but the exterior is all pink in colour while the interior colour is beige / nude ? The "car" seats are all made of leather I think. Visitors can also purchase Hello Kitty merchandise such as notebooks , postcards , bathrobe(?) and other kinds of hello kitty related merchandise from that level. Another service they provide at the spa level would obviously be SPA XD you can get your nails down there . I think they'll paint Hello Kitties all over your nails c: but I think it would be really expensive though >_<
I tried taking a picture of the car ...
Pictures of the merchandise :
I have no idea what these are ... probably postcards
The level above "Hello Kitty Spa" is the "Hello Kitty Cafe"
This is where people sit down at Hello Kitty themed chairs and tables while enjoying their Hello Kitty themed cakes and drinks *^* It was kinda crowded that day and I have no idea why. Before going there , I thought that it would be empty af because I didn't think that it would be well-known among any tourists tbh. And yeap! I was so wrong....
If you hate eating cakes and any kind of dessert but you're a fan of Hello Kitty , you can still go and then order like their non-dessert foods ~ I heard they served pad thai now too :3
JUST LOOK AT HOW CUTE THE MENU IS
RAINBOW CAKE
Didn't get a chance to try out the red velvet lava cake :<
Cup which was given with the promotion
My mum ordered 3 different cakes and drinks for us to try out and the total came out to be about SGD40+ . My sis and I got 2 mini notebooks for ourselves because of that. Below showcases the cakes and drinks we bought.
Even the table has Hello Kitty pasted on them T_T
Pink HK : Rainbow Cheese Cake
Brown HK : Rainbow cake
Rainbow Cake T^T
Rainbow Cheese Cake
Pink Cotton Cake ;-;
This is so cute ( and pink )
The mocha served is really bitter >.< more bitter than the one from starbucks
Some sort of pink smoothie and the Hello Kitty cup :3
Let me just warn everyone that the pink smoothie you see above this text is horrible :x It tastes like my fever medicine ( the pink one ) and unless you like that kind of taste , please spare yourself and don't order that drink :<
The red coloured drink in the Hello Kitty cup is really sweet at the bottom so everyone please remember to stir the drink well before consuming >.> The drink tastes like the strawberry syrup used to make bubble tea mixed with sprite. Its really addictive >_<
Since the 1st floor was packed , the waitress assigned us a seat upstairs on the 2nd floor. And it looks gorgeous *^*
Lets explore the 2nd floor ~
this place is perfect for a /coughs/ date /coughs/ #justsaying
For all the cakes in the pictures , I just wanna say that it tastes like any other normal cake I eaten in my 16 years and 6 months on earth. To me , I guess the rainbow cake is okay. Not too sweet and not too plain :3 I forgot whether the ribbon can be eaten or not because when the cakes arrived , my lil cousin , after I took pictures of it , just grabbed whatever decorations on top of the cake and shoved them into his mouth XD
For the Cheese Cake , it was the same as the rainbow cake. I didn't taste anything extraordinary about the cake because it tasted like the ones I had previously although I must say , the colours of the cake and the way they present it with the hello kitty beside it was really appealing to me ;-; ( im a sucker for pink stuffs ) And yes ! For this one , the Hello Kitty at the top CAN be eaten. Its actually white chocolate .
Lastly for the Pink Cotton Cake , it tastes nothing like cotton candy nor does it taste different from any cake I have eaten in all my 16 years and 6 months of life. But the way they decorated the cake is really cute plus the cake is pink ;-; I couldn't resist.
Finally I'm going to end this section with the ratings :3
p.s I MAY or MAY NOT have been biased with the ratings .....................
- Food : 9/10
- Drinks : 8/10
- Service : 9/10
- Interior Design : 10/10
- Entertainment : 9.5/10
Y'all must be wondering why the hell is there entertainment in the rating section. Imma tell you now. The cafe did have some form of entertainment! They were playing some hello kitty theme song on repeat and it is annoying af . Its been a week since I left Bangkok but i can still hear the theme song in my head ;-; I think the entire cafe itself is already a form of entertainment <: tbh
Remember in the beginning when I mentioned that I did something different in my Bangkok trip this year ?
I DID
This year in Bangkok , after going to the 4 faced Buddha , I went to Ruamkatanyu Foundation to donate coffins for the dead. The minimum amount you must pay is 500 baht (SGD20) and after donating, you get to pray and then you burn the pink slip of paper sort of like receipt. I have no idea whats the praying for though :/
Another new thing I did when I visited Bangkok this year was experiencing how their transport system worked.
No. I did not take the bus ~ I took the train and I must say this . To those who want to take the train from one place to another in Bangkok , I think you better take the taxis ... Based on my experience , the train ticket is more expensive than taxi rides. Another thing is that the train stations are kinda quiet
Thats all for 2015 Bangkok's Trip post ! I'll update it if I remember anything else but I don't think there's anything already seeing that the post is this long. And it took me 5 days to complete this post because school work + coursework + housework T_T ( ah fml )
Last thing before I totally end this post !
As everyone can see and tell , June is ending in like 5 days ? And starting from the 29th June , a new semester will begin for me and the it will end in 5 months time :3 YAY TO FREEDOM. But the 5 months will be pure torture with the amount of excellence programs and practice papers :< therefore , it means that I might not be updating this blog as often like before so I'll take this post as a "GoodBye June" post as well >.<"
I shall end off this blog post now ~
xoxo ,
queen
p.s July please be good to me , my results and the people around me !
