Phuket ; June 2016

Hello, its me. (again)

/sighs/ 1 more week till school re-opens

Anyways, this post isn't the same as the one below (obviously)
I hope this post help those who are flying to Phuket for the first time & have no idea what to expect, what to pack etc.

Phuket is different from Bangkok.
Bangkok is more towards the city life while phuket is more of a relaxed life.
Just chilling at bars, beaches or even in the hotel room on the soft bed.
Which was what I did during my trip.

This trip to Phuket was a healing trip for me after all the stuffs that has happened to me ever since school started.

I make it sound like I've been through a lot...
Not a lot but I've been through some hard and painful times for the past 2 monthsã… ã… .
And its still going on now...

Well, as y'all know, the first thing would be the breakup.
I don't think I've really talked about it. Neither do I want to..
It was hard and painful to move on initially.
But slowly, the feelings faded and I moved on.
I'm sure he is happier too.

The second thing is school.
Yes. I did mention I threw myself into assignments to forget about him.
But it's getting tiring.
Tiring to please the lecturers. Especially one of them.
It's like she dislikes me or something.

Every time I tell her a problem I'm facing, she doesn't seem to care. She would just tell me how to solve the problem and thats it.
But when someone else tells her a similar problem, she would give the student a solution and even help her personally..
/sighs/

I'll just have to tolerate it for the next 1 year, 6 months while praying the situation gets better...

I may have side tracked too much.. whoops.
Back to topic.

There is nothing interesting enough from the trip for me to write about tbh.
So I guess I'll just provide some "hacks" ???

First of all, don't bother staying with "Sleep With Me" Hotel.
Just read my review below.
Don't say I didn't warn y'all.
But if you die die want to stay there, bring your credit card or enough money to pay for the fucking unreasonable 3000 baht deposit per room c: And don't forget to prepare yourself for the bullshit up ahead.

Secondly, nothing in Phuket is cheap if you're a foreigner.
Why I say this?
I'm not trying to be mean or what but if the sellers there see that you're a foreigner, they'll rip you off.
Why I know this?
We were walking to the beach one morning and stopped by a roadside shop selling hats and sunglasses.
A caucasian lady asked how much a pair of shades cost and the shopkeeper replied her saying that its going at 400 baht per pair which is about SGD16.
However, when my uncle asked the same question but in Thai, the shop keeper said that all the shades were going for 100 baht per pair which is about SGD4.

See the difference?

So if you're going to Phuket, learn a few thai words/sentences. It'll help a lot.

Thirdly, if you can. try not to buy food from roadside food stalls.
Why?
The prices of the dishes sold on the roadside is similar to the ones sold in food courts of shopping malls.
At least in my own personal experience.

Next, if have a tight budget (which you shouldn't because you've already spent so much on the flight tickets so you should spend more to make the flight ticket worthwhile.),
I suggest going to Big C Supermarket to buy instant/cup noodles/cupcakes, breads, muffins, cakes or potato chips to eat in the hotel. Big C really sells tons of cheap stuffs.

During my trip, 8 doughnuts only cost SGD1.92 .
See how cheap???

Lastly, when you're going to the airport to fly back to your home country or to another country, be prepared for bag checks. Keep in mind the number of power banks/portable chargers you can carry with you. Once when you stepped into the airport and once before you get your passport stamped.

Yes. They are this tight on security.

But don't go to the airport too early though... There is not much to shopor even walk around after you pass immigration. Most people just sit down on the benches provided and wait for their flight out.

I guess this is all the "hacks" as of now.
All the "hacks" in this post are all based on my personal experience.
Short post but I hope it helps anyone out there!

Before I end, I have good news to share c:
Good news for me ;-;
I'm flying to Taiwan in December!!!

But no. I'm not spending my birthday there unlike Korea because my sister has to collect her PSLE results :<

Speaking of Korea, I still haven't started on the SM COEX blog post....
Idek when I'll start tbh..

I haven't been informed of the actual date yet but my parents have already gotten the flight tickets and they are currently looking for hotels to stay in during our trip.
If anyone has recommendations, do let me know ^^ It would be highly appreciated.

Thats all for now~
