🍊新年快乐🍊

🐶Happy Lunar New Year to all my readers🐶

It's been nearly a month since my last post back in January.
With internship and assignments coming to an end,
I have more time to update this page of mine.

For Chinese New Year this year, instead of house visiting,
I took a 4 days vacation in Batam.
Ya'know, to relax after everything that has happened in my life.

But, the trip was rather boring since it was my first time in that area
so instead of talking about what to do there/where to visit etc,
I'll be reviewing the hotel I stayed in - iHotel Baloi.

Photos of the room during my stay:

I would highly recommend everyone who is traveling to Batam, to stay in this hotel. However, because it is hard to get a room during holidays/peak season, I suggest you book early or email directly to the hotel and ask whether they have any rooms available.

Moreover, this hotel is considered cheap and worth the money. I have friends who went for the cheaper option and they received the shock of their lives the moment they opened the room door because the first thing that greeted them was cockroaches, in their frigging room.

So don't say I didn't warn yall.

Another thing, if you're a smoker, please stay on the smoking floors. There's a fine of 1.5 million IDR if you get caught smoking on the non-smoking floors.

Don't say I didn't warn yall.

Some travel tips/recommendations for my readers:
Currency conversion - SGD1 = IDR 10,000. If you see an item that costs IDR 200,000, just minus away 4 zeros from that amount and that's the price of the item in SGD.

You MUST try the 38 Cha Kue at a2 food court! (the food court is beside the hotel and the store is right at the back.

You should also try the fish soup and ba chor mee at a2 food court as well! The stalls are near the entrance.

There's really nothing much to buy at the nearby shopping mall. So I suggest you shop at the supermarket inside instead. It has so many cheap foods omg.

Miss llao llao? Fret not, BCS mall has it and it's so frigging cheap wth??? SGD2.90 for a small cup with 1 topping!!

Craving for bubble tea? Don't buy sharetea there. There's a bubbletea shop offering cheap discounts for 2/3/5 cups purchases. 5 cups entitled you 50% off your entire order!!!

If you can, try not to go with a tour group because it's so tiring and just a waste of time...

Try their cake lapis!!!

Go for massages! There's a massage place just right beside the hotel, offering cheap massages. But remember to let them know how much strength you want them to use otherwise, it's gonna hurt like a real bitch the next day.

If you're planning to get Mcdonalds ice cream, please order Oreo McFlurry with extra toppings
( about IDR 10,000+) Don't bother going for the vanilla cone since it's more expensive compared to SG.

Do not order anything from the restaurant beside the bubbletea shop with lots of discounts. The restaurant's food is so frigging expensive?? They charged me like SGD5+ for a plate of less than 20 pieces of fries.

I think that's pretty much it. Batam is a great place to visit especially with the current exchange rate. But I honestly don't think I'll go back there again so soon. It's because I prefer taking the plane than ferry and I prefer to go to places where I can shop etc. Batam just isn't my cup of tea.

That's all I have for now.
Until the next post~!
